Privacy Policy
Thank you for registering in the On-Line Traffic School, Inc. (LosAngelesDriver.com) traffic school course. Before you proceed, please review the following official course policies. You must verify that you have read and understand these policies at the bottom of this page.
The participant hereby acknowledges that upon successful completion of this course, hereafter referred to as the course, s/he is eligible to defer one (1) violation point from a current and eligible one (1) point moving traffic violation, unless the court or DMV determine otherwise, or the participant is found to be otherwise ineligible.
The participant may complete the course for the purpose of deferring a current and eligible one (1) point violation once in every eighteen (18) month period. This period is calculated from the date of the citation. However, a court of law, at its discretion, may permit and/or mandate additional participation within the eighteen (18) month period.
The participant acknowledges that by registering for the course, s/he enters into an agreement with the court of jurisdiction to dismiss her/his traffic citation. The participant will be found in violation of this agreement if s/he solicits and/or accepts any assistance whatsoever in the completion of the course. The court of jurisdiction reserves the right to monitor and review access to the course in any fashion, at any time. By submitting her/his final exam answers, the participant certifies that s/he has completed the course without any assistance, whatsoever. A passing score is considered to be 100% correct on the course quizzes and 80% correct on the course final exam.
The course curriculum meets all applicable state requirements for content, duration, security and administrative procedures. It is designed to provide the participant with an overview of defensive driving principles, the effects of alcohol and drug use on driving, driver attitude and behavior, accident preventability, and California traffic laws. The participant is expected to be completely familiar with all aspects of the curriculum. S/he is strongly encouraged to read carefully, take notes, and review each course section prior to the final exam; the final exam questions are drawn from the entire curriculum.
The participant agrees to complete the assigned curriculum, achieve at least the minimum passing score on all quizzes and the final examination, and meet all course requirements to receive completion credit. The On-Line Traffic School, Inc., hereafter course provider, cannot issue completion credit to any participant who does not fulfill the requirements, and no participant shall deliberately accept completion credit if s/he does not fulfill all course requirements.
It is the participant's responsibility to ensure that s/he is eligible to participate in the course. The course provider does not assume any liabilities or responsibilities, expressed or implied, with respect to: (1) The participant's eligibility to participate; (2) The court's acceptance of the completion credit; (3) Administrative errors on the part of the court.
The participant agrees to pay the course fee. The fee is separate from any other fees and must be paid in full before the participant can participate in the final exam and/or before completion credit can be issued. The participant may pay by credit card, debit card, check, or money order (payment by check/money order must be mailed in a timely manner). If a personal check is returned for any reason, including nonsufficient funds, the participant shall pay the original tuition fee in addition to a $20 service charge via money order or certified cashier's check. The participant shall pay a $5 service charge for any course fee that is refunded to a credit card.
When applicable, the participant must adhere to the time requirements established by the governing body. To ensure that the time requirement is met, the participant will be unable to proceed to the next course section until the allotted time has elapsed. The participant may login/out of the course at anytime, but s/he must meet minimum time requirements.
The participant shall not bypass or circumvent any section of the assigned curriculum, and s/he shall not accept outside assistance, with the exception of technical support administered by the course provider. If the course circumvention is of a malicious and damaging nature to the provider or any member of the public and/or another participant, the provider may pursue legal action to the full extent of the law.
The course provider retains the participant's personal information and other data collected on its website for the purpose of course administration and internal recordkeeping. It is the provider's policy to maintain the confidentiality of all personal information, except as required for disclosure to the applicable governing body for official purposes. The course provider retains non-personal information, such as the type of internet browser and IP address used to access the course, for the purposes of internal system maintenance and virus/intrusion threat protection. At its discretion, the provider may use personal information to contact the participant with updates and promotions about relevant services; however, the provider shall not distribute, sell, or disclose the participant's personal information, in whole or part, to any third party without the participant's express permission.
The participant is entitled to a refund of the tuition fee within the 48 hour period immediately following the time of registration if s/he does not participate in any part of the course curriculum. No refund will be issued if the participant is disqualified or expelled at any point during the course. The participant shall pay a $5 service charge for any course fee that is refunded to a credit card. Check or money order payments will be returned to the participant. If the participant is unable to complete the curriculum due to legitimate health and/or technological reasons, the participant shall be entitled to a refund. Participants found to be in violation of any of the course policies shall be disqualified from the course and shall not be entitled to a refund. Participants who do not meet the above criteria or fail to meet any of the course requirements shall not be entitled to a refund. The provider reserves the right to investigate and grant refunds for any participant at anytime at its discretion.
Circumstances beyond the control of the provider may cause periodic delays during course participation. These include, but are not limited to, the following: internet network problems; routing issues; server traffic congestion; and/or other unforeseen technological issues. The provider does not assume any liabilities or responsibilities, expressed or implied, with respect to technological problems outside of the provider's control that delay a participant's progress or course completion.
